Purpose: The International Student Ambassador program is designed to assist new and returning International Students with adjusting to college life in Canada as well as to grow the Humber International Centre to meet the diverse needs of students around the world.
We are looking for candidates who have a strong work ethic and are self motivated. An International Student Ambassador is a very important piece of the Humber International Team; successful candidate(s) will demonstrate the drive and enthusiasm needed to ensure future students success here at Humber College.
Required Training
•Ongoing on-the-job training
Required Duties
General Office Duties (75% of Job Responsibilities)
•Creating event posters
•Completing data entry and filing
•Working closely with office staff and other International Student Ambassadors.
•Helping respond to e-mail inquiries
Trips, Events, and Workshops
•Attending scheduled trips and act as a Humber staff representative
•Helping to facilitate semester Meet N’ Greet events
•Attending scheduled workshops
•Participating and helping to plan/promote our International Education Week (IEW) events
•Giving campus tours to new students.
•Covering for our front desk staff and working with students coming into the Centre.
Airport Pick-ups
•Travelling to the airport to pick up international students arriving in Canada
•Assisting student with getting to the residence and registering, picking up their keys and making sure they get to their rooms
Social Media
•Working with the International Centre team on different initiatives which encompass skills such as: Writing/Blogging, Photography, Videography, Graphic Design, Event Planning/Execution, Marketing and Community Outreach.
No. of Positions: 2 - 4 at the Lakeshore Campus, 2-4 at the North Campus
Hours: 5 – 24 hours per week (dependent on need)
Rate of Pay: $11.00 per hour
Tentative Start Date: June 22, 2015
